Useful informationWeight loss but mostly aging is the cause of laxity in the inner surface of the arms. This is one of the problems for which a great number of women consult Plastic Surgeons
No matter how much an older person exercises the damaged area will never recover. Arm laxity is handled through surgical skin removal via the axilla area with a “V”-shaped incision that hides away as the arm closes. After a while this minor scar resembles a skin fold and incisions almost always heal successfully over time. The procedure is often combined with liposuction on the outer area of the arm in case of dystrophic fat and ends with removal of saggy skin.
Surgery is performed under local anaesthesia and sedation while hospitalisation is not necessary. A bandage is used during the first days and the patient must be cautious when moving and lifting weight for 7-10 days.
